Now Political Drama in Rajasthan

Ashok Gehlot

After 82 MLAs who supported chief minister Ashok Gehlot resigned from the state assembly on Sunday night, a political drama broke out in Rajasthan.

The MLAs are basically against the selection of a new chief minister of Rajasthan from among those candidates who overthrew the Gehlot administration in July 2020. This comes after rumours surfaced that Sachin Pilot would replace Ashok Gehlot as chief minister if Gehlot won the Congress’ presidential poll and took over as the active president of the Congress.

The situation would be resolved by one-on-one conversations between the MLAs and observers Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken, according to interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
