Four Students Suspended After Their Dance in Burqa

A video from St. Joseph Engineering College has gone viral. The video shows four boys of the Muslim community dancing in a burqa to the song Fevicol Se.

It has now brought forth a controversy which says that the dance mocked the burqa and hijab. Many people have criticised the college administration for allowing the students to dance to this as it hurt the religious sentiments of one community. Many social media users gave called the steps of the dance obscene.

The college in the meanwhile is denying their involvement. The college says that the boys had broken the strict guidelines of the informal part of the event and they had just barged on the stage.

The college principal has suspended the boys and says that this dance was not a part of the approved programmes. The college does not support such activities that could in any way harm the harmony between communities and everyone.
