Either tonight or early tomorrow morning, the iOS 16 will be available in the Indian market. After many months of testing, the iPhones 8 and above will get iOS 16 although the operating system was always available in the beta form. It was first showcased at WWDC 2022 in June.
This version of iOS brings fresh UI and new features on the lock screen.
Budget iPhones like SE 2020 and SE 2022 will also get this software update. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, being the latest models will come with this new OS.
To check the availability of iOS 16 manually, users need to go to Settings->General->Software Updates.
There are many new changes on the lock screen that Apple has made with iOS 16. Users of Apple phones can now change their wallpaper by long pressing the lock screen and can even add widgets. Notifications will appear directly on the lock screen and can also be accessed by swiping.
Since Apple is upgrading the camera app too, the new UI lets users switch between filters and modes by swiping. An improved cinematic mode is now also available to iPhone 13 and above models.
Under the Privacy tab in Settings, the lockdown mode, a new mode by Apple will protect the phone against spyware like Pegasus.
