The much-awaited 5G has finally available to Indians, though not across India. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi rolled out the 5G with many telecom operators and technology companies present at the event.
At the IMC 2022, the telecos shared the rollout time of 5G also. The 5G data is said to be 20 times faster than 4G.
Reliance Chairman, Mukesh Ambani said that 5G services will be available Pan India by December 2023. In the meantime, by Diwali this year, Reliance Jio will provide 5G in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Lucknow and Pune.
Sunil Mittal, CEO Airtel, said that 5G will be made available across the country by March 2024. In the meantime, Mumbai, Delhi, Varanasi and Bengaluru, including 8 other cities would enjoy the services.
Although 5G will be rolled out in select cities, both Reliance and Airtel, everybody will still not get an access to it. 5G will be available only in select parts of these cities.
Vodafone has also said that it would provide 5G services soon.
