The Demolition That May Have Gone Wrong

In Noida, the demolition of twin towers, Apex and Ceyane took place on Sunday, August 28 and the buildings were demolished within 9 seconds after 2:30 pm. The demolition used almost 3700 kg of explosives.

The towers were demolished after the Supreme Court’s order. The collusion between the builders and Noida officials who let Supertech Ltd. construct the buildings led to the downfall of the twin towers.

Soon after, a cloud of dust rose from the demolished buildings. The demolition has left almost 55,000 to 80,000 tonnes of debris which includes steel bars and rubble and may take almost 3 months to be disposed of.

A large part of this debris would be dumped at isolated places while the remaining would find place in the basement of the twin towers.

The demolition may have gone wrong and caused a lot of damage because top floor of one of the towers landed just 10 meters from the nearest residential building. This demolition if not controlled would have gone haywire for sure.
