Releasing in theatres on 11th August, 2022, Lal Singh Chadha will return Amir Khan to the cinema after four years. This film, an official adaptation of Tom Hank’s Forest grump stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as well.
The film is set for a nationwide release with around 3500 screens, including Tamil and Telugu markets. Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan is also releasing on the same day, with 2500 screens nationwide.
It is estimated that Lal Singh Chadha may record the lowest opening for Amir Khan. Off late, Bollywood stories are also not doing too well at the box office.
In spite of all eyes now on Lal Singh Chadha, the film is facing boycott trends over the internet. Exhibitors and distributors are extremely worried about this because even if a small number of people do not come out to watch the movie, it is a loss for them.
After COVID-19, people are very cautious about what they want to watch and where. Since there is no originality in the film, Lal Singh Chadha may lose out on audience.
However, by boycotting films or not watching them in theatres, people do not relaise that they are impacting the livelihoods of many involved in the film and in bringing it on screen.
