Every season, a wide variety of participants from various backgrounds enter the house. But during some seasons, a few inmates with a criminal history have also entered the prison.

This season, Sajid Khan’s entrance into the Bigg Boss 16 house is the one being discussed and singled out by viewers on social media. Rahul Mahajan and Monica Bedi are just a couple of the past BB house candidates who fit this description.

Due to the #MeToo movement, Sajid was in the headlines in 2018. The director had been accused of sexual harassment by many female celebrities. Farhad Samji took over as director of Housefull 4 when he was asked to quit. Since then, Sajid has maintained a low profile, but he is back with Bigg Boss 16. Even singer Sona Mohapatra criticised the station for choosing to have Sajid compete.

Former bandit turned politician Seema Parihar has also been a part of the show. Seema had said that Phoolan Devi, a former bandit, served as her inspiration. In the film Wounded the Bandit Queen, Seema appeared. In 2010, she participated in Bigg Boss 4 and was eliminated on day 76.

Sampat Pal served as the head of the Gulabi Gang, a group of female vigilantes. Sampat and her gang have assaulted numerous government employees and men who were involved in domestic violence. She was also the subject of a film this year that starred Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla. Season 6 of Bigg Boss included her.

Rahul Mahajan, who participated in Bigg Boss seasons 2 and 14, was accused of eating illegal substances that had been mixed with alcohol at the home of his late father Pramod Mahajan. He was merely detained for drug consumption, though, and was cleared of drug trafficking allegations. Later, Dimpy Mahajan, his ex-wife, had also reported him for domestic abuse. Both of them have now established their respective marriages.

Actor Raja Chaudhary was detained for reportedly misbehaving in public while intoxicated. He was previously married to TV actress Shweta Tiwari. He was accused of molesting a woman as well.

The movie Oye Lucky Lucky portrayed the story of Devinder Singh, commonly known as Bunty. He participated in Season 4 of Bigg Boss, but was eliminated after just three days, mostly because of his violent behaviour.

Bigg Boss season 2 contestant Monica Bedi gained attention for her liaison with Abu Salem. The Lisbon police detained her and Abu Salem for entering Portugal with false documents.

Political activist and artist Aseem Trivedi competed on Bigg Boss 6. He was the target of significant accusations that his cartoons insulted the Indian flag, the constitution, the Parliament, and the national anthem. In addition, a sedition complaint was brought against him under Section 124 A of the Indian Penal Code. On the basis of the subject matter of his work, he was detained in Mumbai on sedition-related accusations.
