Built at a cost of 20,000 crores, the INS Vikranta has put India in a select group of nations which have the capacity to design and build aircraft carriers.
INK Vikranta is a “Made in India” product and uses all Indian equipment and machinery. The INS Vikranta was unveiled by PM Narendra Modi and proudly hoisted the Navy Flag at a commissioning ceremony at Kochi.
INS Vikranta is a part of the Indian Navy Fleet. It is the most complex and largest warships made in India. The INS Vikranta will protect the maritime zone of India and will also house many women officers.
PM Narendra Modi also said at the ceremony that nothing was impossible for India and INS Vikranta is a step to make Indian defence sector self-dependent.
