On the complaint of an ex-serviceman, a trial court in Bihar’s Begusarai, issues a warrant to Ekta Kapoor. In his complaint, the ex-serviceman Shambu Kumar said that the series XXX Season 2 had objectionable scenes related to a soldier’s wife.

The Supreme Court is now hearing the plea filed by Ekta Kapoor that is challenging the arrest warrant issues against her for insulting soldiers and hurting their families sentiments in her web series that is being aired on her OTT Platform ALT Balaji.

Ekta Kapoor’s advocate, Mukul Rohatgi in the court said that the content aired is one subscription-based OTT and as such, there is freedom of choice in the country.

The bench of judges comprising of Justice Ajay Rastogi and Justice CT Ravikumar took exception to this and asked the advocate as to what choice they were giving to people. They said that this type of content was polluting the minds of young people.

The two judges also didn’t like the fact that Mukul Rohatgi was travelling every time to Delhi for a date and said that his client could afford to pay for an expensive lawyer who is good at his work and made her voice heard, but the court worked also for people who didn’t have the means to afford a good lawyer. They also told Mukul Rohatgi that they would put a cost on his for filing such a case.

The Supreme Court has kept the case pending and will give another date.

The case was also put before the Patna High Court but there was no hope for it to be heard soon.
